I had Ohio Heating come out last fall to look over my boiler, as I mainly wanted an inspection and better understanding of the system. I was quoted a base fee plus hourly, but the visit ended up costing nearly $1,000, which was surprising given the scope. They then recommended about $1,600 in repairs, which I approved. After that work was completed, my boiler began leaking significant amounts of water daily, like enough where there was standing water at times — something that was never an issue before. I was then told it needed a pressure reducer, with another $800+ charge to fix it. It also took months to get someone back out, and when they finally came, there was no arrival window — they showed up unexpectedly at 8:00 AM, which caused further delays. I did ask if they would consider discounting the final repair given the situation, but the owner declined, stating the work was completed as quoted. While I understand that, it doesn’t address that the leak only started after their prior work. The technician was polite and professional, certainly knowledgable but overall the experience felt frustrating due to the costs, lack of communication, and how the situation was handled, which is entirely out of the technicians control I'm sure. Leaving this review is a bummer, because I was hopeful I had found a company that was going to be able to service my boiler system for years to come. I will look elsewhere. UPDATE: Response to Ohio Heating I’ve read your response, and I strongly disagree with how this is being framed. They did come out, but they did not even give me a time-frame. How can I plan my day around your expected visit when I don't even know when it will be? During the initial 6.5-hour visit, there was no meaningful leak documented or communicated to me. I called for an evaluation, and instead was billed over $800 and then guided into $1,600 in repairs based on your recommendations. After that work was completed, the system began leaking multiple buckets of water daily — a severe issue that absolutely did NOT exist prior. Now the explanation is that this was previously identified, worsened over time, or may have been impacted by outside changes. That does not line up with what was actually communicated at the time. If a leak of that magnitude was truly a known or imminent issue, it should have been clearly documented and emphasized during a 6.5-hour diagnostic — there is NO WAY the tech could have missed a leak of this magnitude. Shifting responsibility to timing, outside changes, or delays ignores the core issue: the severity of the leak only presented after the initial repairs were performed. I’ve paid the vast majority of what was billed and only held back half of the final invoice due ($400) to how this played out. Rather than working toward a reasonable resolution, I was met with a threat of a mechanics lien over the remaining balance — despite the fact that I’ve been actively communicating and attempting to settle this fairly. That approach speaks for itself. At the end of the day, this wasn’t about refusing to pay — it was about questioning why I ended up with a significantly worse problem after following professional recommendations, and why there’s been no meaningful accountability for that. To make matters worse, Jill even said "I apologize for the delay, but it has been a day of putting out fires."... yeah... I can understand why!

We've been looking for weeks for a reliable company to do ductwork for our house that requires risky drilling through the exterior wall. Dave is absolutely the best in the business. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained all work clearly in layman terms. If you are looking for honest, trustworthy business that will get the job done right, Ohio Heating is the go to company. Thank you, Dave.

They came to quote doing a heat exchanger on warranty. They didn’t try to upsell me on a furnace, and they did the job in a couple of hours at a very reasonable price! Other companies wouldn’t even entertain doing the warranty job and tried to sell me a furnace, one even lied to me and told me the warranty was expired even after I told him that it wasn’t. 5 stars to these guys, when I do replace the furnace I’ll be calling them!
