I recently hired Northern Mechanical for two projects at my home, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Austin (the owner) and Santiago were punctual, friendly, professional, and clearly skilled at what they do. Austin installed a smart thermostat in my mid-70s split-level home, which turned out to be a much more challenging job than expected. The original thermostat wiring couldn’t be used to pull new wire through, and there’s very little room to work around the existing ductwork and structural components inside the walls and ceiling. Austin took the time to plan and measure carefully, ultimately finding the best approach that required the least amount of cutting. Thanks to his thoughtful work, only minor repairs are needed—and the thermostat worked flawlessly on the first try. While Austin handled the thermostat, Santiago installed a new outdoor faucet. He quickly tapped into an existing water line and ran a clean, efficient connection to the exterior wall. Both jobs were completed in a reasonable amount of time, and they left everything clean and tidy afterward. Their pricing was fair, and the quality of their workmanship speaks for itself. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Northern Mechanical to anyone in need of plumbing or HVAC services.

6 weeks without hot water due to a house-line gas leak detected by NM Gas. Gas was turned off and meter removed. This journey started when a B Carlson plumber came out to diagnosis an issue with our gas water heater. He determined that we had low gas pressure and just needed to call the gas company. Not once was there the indication it was emergency. So called 4 days later and found out it was an emergency that resulted in 6 weeks without hot water, the need for a new gas line, a new water heater, and the search for a plumber. Enter Northern Mechanical!!! From beginnIng to end Austin and Santi were awesome. Quick and clear communication. If we had questions, they were answered quickly. We requested 2 quote adjustments and they did it. We went with a smaller water heater. They did research on materials and let us know what they discovered and all of this before the new gas line was put in. And the quote for the new gas line, water heater installation and roofer to patch holes (this sealed the deal) was within our budget. The day of installation, they started on time and finished the same day. They were courteous and gentle around our pets who were curious as to the going’s on. After everything was done, Austin walked us through the next steps and what to expect. He called the city for inspection, inspection happened and only one ding which was the emergency valve shut off. Austin was on it and Santi came out and got it taken care of. Second inspection passed. Austin then instructed us on calling the city and info needed. And now we have hot water. As you can tell, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Austin and Santi Thank you guys!!!
