Our Experience with Radon Mitigation We decided to install a radon mitigation system after a test showed our home was slightly above 4 pCi/L, the EPA’s action level. Radon exposure increases the risk of lung cancer, and testing is often required during home sales, which can affect timing and price. Nebraska’s uranium rich glacial soils naturally release radon, and more than half of tests statewide exceed 4.0 pCi/L, according to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. We expected a long, complicated installation process, but working with Ethan and his team at Bryant (Keenan and Cory) in Lincoln made everything easy. Ethan evaluated our home, provided a clear quote, and explained the customized system they would install. Usually, a system takes no longer than a day to install; their team completed ours in just four hours. They moved items as needed, sealed foundation cracks, installed the piping and fan, and cleaned thoroughly as they worked. They were polite, knowledgeable, and answered every question. Ethan also responded quickly to follow up emails. A week later, the post mitigation test showed an impressively low level of 0.6 pCi/L.
