$400,000.00 spent on a full alignment of 138ft M/Y by AME at LMC, all to be redone after a short trip by ‘On Site Alignment’ under warranty at Rybovich costing us a further 4 months on the yard and a lot of additional costs. I could write a book on the uselessness of AME and the lies Rich loves to spin but here are a few high(low)lights. After spending 5 months doing a full alignment, finally being towed down the new river (not even in gear)I could see the coupler wobbling like a piece of spaghetti, back to LMC to get hauled out again. Once ‘rectified’ sea trial to Bimini to have bolts falling out of the Centa coupler. Not scary at all when it spins at a few thousand rpm. Drain oil on thrust bearings to find metal shavings (now these had to be sent to Netherlands for a rebuild). I could be here all day with crazy stories but long story short, everything they touched they pushed more out of alignment. When Tony(AME big wig) came to check the alignment once hauled out again at Rybovich, he thought we had hit something it was out so bad. Definite falsification of reports (Rich’s area of expertise) we were given, as no one, not even AME could get anywhere close to the original alignment that was stated on these reports. Spend a little extra, fly out On Site Alignment for all alignment issues. They were professional from start to finish and actually used digital equipment, welcome to 2025. For prop and shaft pulling use High Seas and for any other hydraulic needs. Both excellent companies.
